"Smokin' Fish" is a documentary about a young Tlingit Indian making a pilgrimage to his ancestral home in remote Alaska. There, he is forced to confront the dichotomy between his history and the world he lives in. The film integrates storylines of a modern Native Alaskan fish camp, a compelling personal journey, and dynamic vignettes of Tlingit history and culture - all told from a distinctly Native American perspective.
